CA Solutions have been working with fruit right from the start. Sister company, Dobson Refrigeration began servicing Coolstores when the kiwifruit industry began. It has grown with the industry and branched out into apples which have similar storage needs.
Company owner and Technical Director Brian Tucker has been involved in CA systems since he joined Dobson Refrigeration & Electrical in 1994 as an electrician. Dobson’s had just been selected as the New Zealand agent for the world renowned Italian Fruit Control Equipment brand FCE and Brian worked with FCE systems from day one.
Brian bought Dobson’s and CA Solutions in 1999. Service Director, Stuart Walker joined the company in 2002, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge gained through 7 years in kiwifruit refrigeration. Global Heritage: the FCE research and development inheritance
As an FCE agent, CA Solutions offers atmosphere control products with the trade marked Bonomi refrigeration system. Thirty years after their association began, FCE technicians continue to work with Engineer Felice Bonomi, the ‘father’ of controlled atmosphere engineering, to create innovative cutting edge technology. The FCE philosophy is to supply plant machinery that can be managed totally by the end user.
And, they work with leading research institutions to keep new FCE technologies firmly focused on the needs of the fruit. The CA Solutions and FCE teams visit each other regularly so that CA Solutions can bring this extensive research and development inheritance to New Zealand’s best post harvest facilities.
